Omaha is a Great Place to Run a Business

Posted on September 26, 2018January 22, 2019 by simonsharp

There are a lot of things you need to consider before starting a new business such as the market, finance, product, manufacturing, infrastructure and much more.  Every single one of those aspects is important and will play a major role in the success or failure of the business.

Great Location

However, the location is one of the most important decisions that you will make, for it can easily make or break your business. As it is well known that more new businesses fail than succeed, you need to make a decision that will determine the future of your business. Omaha is one of the few cities that has stable economic growth and is showing great promise for new businesses.

Omaha is one of the most underrated cities when it comes to the “it cities” such as New York, Austin, Portland which offer a thriving tech scene along with culture and fine dining. However, with big names come the big price tags and not all who are looking to start fresh will be able to afford the extravagant cost of living.  Here is a closer look at why you want to relocate to Omaha.

Affordable

Omaha beats all the big cities with its low cost of living and still being able to offer almost all the attractive amenities that the big cities have to offer. The name Omaha literally translates to “those going against the wind” a worthy title to one of the friendliest cities in the United States. Omaha has the feel of a small community even though it has a growing economy. Omaha is quickly taking the position as the ‘hottest place for tech startups’ and has already received the nickname “Silicon Prairie”.

Small Town Vibe

The traffic is better than most cities with the majority of the commute time being less than 20 minutes. One of the top art museums of the country is located in this city, The Joslyn Art Museum. This 1931 architectural genius is extremely well known for its American sculptures and paintings. Admission to this museum is absolutely free! The food in this city is also nothing short of marvelous. A large number of Omaha’s chefs go to big cities to train and gain experience and utilize that training and experience to offer world-class food at a much-reduced price.
There is a fresh, young culture emerging in Omaha supporting each other’s businesses and it might just help you break out with your business idea with a much lesser cost of living and high energy of the growing startup scene. It never hurts when you have ConAgra and Berkshire Hathaway which are some of the established Fortune 500 companies supporting the city’s economy.
So, if you haven’t already, do give Omaha a serious look for the base of your potential business and you will certainly be including the city to your shortlist.
